geek week

One of the things I was able to do over the holidays was get caught up on Buffy season 8 comics. I had to buy about 6 issues [ six months ago where I left off ].
The problem of reading them all at once is that now I feel like an addict that just got my supply cut off.

Now I'm watching my dvds and videotapes of the past seasons and it's kind of nice.Any grumblings I had about the shows have faded, and I'm just enjoying the actors. That production team really did a wonderful job with finding great talent.

Here's a clip from one of my favorite Angel episodes:

Update 1-9-08
I have now completed my Buffy X-box game. It took me what, oh about 4 years? Pathetic, I know.

new year post

Happy New Year folks.

I missed out on the New Year's fun because I was in a car shuttle with a bunch of strangers, coming back from the LAX. Didn't matter anyway, my brain was completely fried from the full day traveling.

But the holidays were a nice mellow time. Like a big herbal tea.

Some of the "exciting" moments during the holidays:

Wild turkeys in the backyard. They wander around and show up from time to time, camping out next to the tool shed. I call the leader Moses. Moses shall lead his flock through the Pennsylvanian wilderness. And God was pleased.

Below: Rock gods.

My nephews playing Guitar Hero III. I believe it's the game that Deidre mentioned in her blog a couple weeks back.
I was able to get in on the game myself. A fun time waster. There were times where I really thought I could pull off the Black Sabbath and Aerosmith tunes. But then I was on Easy level...

But in the grownup games of Atlantic City [below] I did much better. I won $50 bucks in ten minutes from those slot machines. Not bad.

This view is from the new addition at the Ceaser's Palace called The Pier. Which is a block of shops and restaurants that runs out over the beaches and ocean. Pretty nice view [ on a sunny day, on that day it rained]
But I was impressed by how nice and "upscale' they made the casino. I shall return there, and hopefully get another $50 from them.
