x men tres
I started off my summer blockbuster movie season with X-Men 3 the other day. A lot of folks around the office panned it before I saw it. But they're pretty much the true X men fans [comic book].
I actually enjoyed it. Not the greatest movie but it certainly fits in the category of " Fun summer movie" .. Which means for me : It didn't outright suck, I didn't waste my dollars, I had a good time with my friends, altogether a nice afternoon etc, etc.
"It's not Batman and Robin". [ quote: Davey]
Maybe that should be the movie's poster ad : "X-Men 3: It ain't Batman and Robin! "
My only major nitpick is Jean Grey. There are some scenes with her in the woods and she resembles Cate Blanchett in LOTR and I was laughing at that.
Movie trailers that were cool:
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 -- the supernatural villians look really cool. I'm impressed.Quote Devo: " The next Indiana Jones franchise"
I think he's right. I'm expecting the PoC Ride 2 at Disneyworld to open next summer.
not really cool, but interesting: Fast and The Furious part : ?, Tokyo Whatchmacalit. [ I forgot the title]
Starring Lil' Lucas "Sling Blade" Black, all grown up and looking like he could be following Kurt Russell's career of cute actor kid turned John Carpenter's bad ass star.
and of course: SNAKES ON A PLANE!

Yay! Sounds like X-Men is exactly what I figured...fun summer fluff. It'd be nice if it could be better than that, but I'll take it. As long as it's not insultingly bad.
God help poor Lucas Black. Seeing him in that commercial for Fast & Furious Whatever just made me sad. He deserves so much better. But I guess if he can get bigger roles by doing it...well. Okay. And hey...at least the F&F people are moving up the ladder as far as acting talent. Considering that they started in the sub-basement with Vin Diesel and then only came up one flight or so with that Paul Walker dude...at least they finally got on the elevator and got somebody who can really act.

what i want to know is why wolverine's pants stayed on?! come on! give us ladies a break here! LOL other than that, i enjoyed x-men III.
i want to see that fast and furious thing for the cars, LOVE cars. looks like a video game.
POTC II looks like a lot of fun too, so i'm in for that too.
but the best trailer:
SNAKES ON A PLANE!!!!!
i bet that this will happen to be my last going-out-to-the-movies-movie before giving birth...since its slated for august...

I can't believe that I'd say this but the addition of Lucas Black (he was also in Friday Night Lights) makes that FF3 actually look good. Plus it's directed by an American-Asian dude, Justin Lin. This kid can act, and I wished they had titled it something else. Friday Night Lights was a better movie and lived up to the hype because of this talented kid...You give this guy 5-6 years and hopefully some richer roles and he'll be in Matthew McCaugnahey's league.
