pimpin' some britcoms

Discovered these from BBC America.

Little Britain --I just watched season one.Two comedians who do character sketches, various or recurring characters. These guys really immerse themselves in their characters and they really push the envelope sometimes. The SNL folks should take lessons. I decided to buy the season one dvd after I saw a sketch about a guy who keeps visiting his buddy's family [only because he's attracted to his friend's granny]. There's a video clip of it at the BBC America site. Offensive, wrong on so many levels..but so damn funny.

My current fav--Black Books. Picture above [ from BBC America]. Kind of like Fawlty Towers --only much more darker and surreal. About a miserable, mean, chain smoking, drunk Irish social misfit running a small book shop.

[attempting to fill in his tax return form]
Bernard Black: What?! What is this?! "What is your mother's maiden name?"-- What's her first name? I just knew her as "Ma"! That'll have to do.
[writing on the form]
Bernard Black: 'Ma.... Possibly deceased'.
