blink!
This was one of my favorite shows growing up. Such a fun romantic comedy. Recommended for relaxing. Forgot how damn funny and adult it was for it's time. I always thought it was better than Bewitched because Samantha was the 'straight man' surrounded by her loony relatives. On this show everyone got to take part in the screwball hi-jinks.
Plus Jeannie could blink Tony and Roger to the North Pole whenever she got really pissed off at the guys. I don't remember Samantha ever using her witchcraft for a little revenge on Darrin or his boss Mr. Tate.
My favorite gag from first season is when Jeannie keeps blinking Roger all over the world. Somehow he keeps coming back to the base and running into Dr. Bellows. Within the same day it looks like, I love how the the writers just threw out the logic in that ep. The show worked because the actors were so good at handling the fantasy comedy.
Bellows: " What's wrong with your hand?"
Roger " Oh it's nothing sir. Just a little frostbite"
Bellows [to himself] : Frostbite? In July?
then later..
Bellows : " What's wrong with your arm?"
Roger : " Oh just a little sprain from a tribe of pygmies"
Bellows [to himself]: Pygmies? In Florida?
later again...
Bellows: "Why are you limping?"
Roger : Oh just a case of the bends sir, I'll be fine.
Bellows [to himself]: The bends? On dry land?

Aww...Jeannie looked so cute as a cartoon. I'm just sad to see this one's coming up for its turn in the remake grinder. Even with the director of 'Bend it Like Beckham' at the helm, I just don't see it even coming close to the original show...especially if friggin' Jessica Simpson ends up playing Jeannie. ICK.

Last I heard Jessica Alba was Jeannie and ...Jimmy Fallon. Argh
Fallon does not look like astronaut material. Now Gary Sinise, yeah, he does. Not Fallon.

Ewwww...that sounds awful. You'd think they might've learned something from that 'Bewitched' remake that tanked even with friggin' Nicole Kidman & Will Ferrell in it.
Just leave it alone for the love of god!!!

Owen Wilson - Maj. Tony Nelson
Steve Carrell - Maj.Roger Healy
Leslie Neilson - Col. Bellows
Monique - Jeannie...
...and Johnny Depp as THE BEAVER.
I'd buy that for a dollar!

Swap Owen with hunkier bro Luke Wilson for Maj. Nelson...remember he was damn funny in that X-files episode years ago. "Y'all the guvermen' people?".
Steve Carell , yeah.
Poor Leslie is too old. Mandy Patinkin. He does annoying pretty well. I should know, he annoyed me at Robeks once. ; )
Jeannie...the goofy chick from Wedding Crashers.
