I sometimes want to check out Rob's flicks...Devil's Rejects has been on heavy rotation on Showtime this month. But then I remember my buddie Ronnie telling me about working on House of 1000 Corpses and just saying how incredibly F-ed up it was. He said it made him nauseous watching the stuff in the cutting room day in and day out.
Then I remember that I probably shouldn't be watching that stuff if I want to keep my meals down.
I went to a Universal Studios Halloween couple years ago when Zombie was promoting his first horror flick. It was part of the attraction and promoted heavily with video clips set out for the crowds in the long lines, so I had seen the trailer about 17 times before I finally got into the maze tour. However, I was pretty much bored with the whole thing. Just gory parts: blood and body parts and that's all there was. Nobody scared me or jumped out at me.Nothing was hiding in the dark to spook me, it was basically an assault on my eyeballs with all that fake blood and glaring rock music. So I kind of wrote off his movies after that because I waited so long in the line and was underwhelmed by it all.
But I love his album Hellbelly Deluxe.
Now the attraction that was right next door to the Zombie tour was called the Hollywood Classic Horror tour that featured the Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein, and Creature from the Black Lagoon. That one rocked. They set up this one section of the tour like the set from the Creature from the Black Laggon. Vey cool. Swamp nightime setting with fog and fireflies. I had to walk across a creaky thin bridge. As I was trying to see what was in front of me and make it across the bridge with out falling, a claw came up from under the bridge and grabbed my leg. Scared me good. Got my money's worth. That's how you scare people.

So funny and yet so wrong.

I should say-assault on my "senses". Because rock music doesn't hurt my eyes.
Don't they have an edit button on these things?

Don't forget Knott's Not So Scary Farm...where it's so friggin' crowded that you're too p*ssed off to be scared.

Yeah, like the time when Devo threw me in front of the Werewolf and ran away.
But that Ghostrider rollercoaster scared the sh** out off all of us. That picture says it all.
